Hm...so far they sound really similar to RED, Decyfer Down, some Skillet, and some Classic Crime, but I'm not really seeing anything that distinguishes them from these other bands, if you know what I mean. They're not bad, but it just feels like more of the same. Every songs sounds really similar to other songs I've heard before (but don't ask me which - I actually haven't listened to Christian music in a few months, so I'm rusty.) I'm just getting a huge case of deja vu instead of getting something new and exciting.
Definitely in agreement here. Red is good, Decyfer Down isn't anything special to me and Skillet went downhill. I'm not seeing anything different about this band Burning Yesterday.
What is up with the Christian music industry lately? I've been hoping for some intense new music but, like you, only finding "huge case of deja vu". Not only that, I've found that the Christian radio stations haven't been that great to listen to anymore. Here in Middle Tennessee, the Broadcasters name is Wally and they always boast about how "different" he is. But when they say different, they mean that he takes "risks" in the Christian radio broadcasting world. NOT good risks. Risks that are offensive to devoted Christians.
Besides that sad fact... The radio plays the same old music over and over... makes me want to pull my hair out and throw it into the Cheerios I'm eating...
