Has anybody heard of this band? I got them about a week ago just to test them out. I can't say enough about them! They sound a lot like Red but are a bit harder. I highly recommend them.

I haven't. I'll have to see if they have anything on Myspace or something that I could listen to.

I told you. It's one of my new favorite bands.

Hm...so far they sound really similar to RED, Decyfer Down, some Skillet, and some Classic Crime, but I'm not really seeing anything that distinguishes them from these other bands, if you know what I mean. They're not bad, but it just feels like more of the same. Every songs sounds really similar to other songs I've heard before (but don't ask me which - I actually haven't listened to Christian music in a few months, so I'm rusty.) I'm just getting a huge case of deja vu instead of getting something new and exciting.

That is a good point Jo. Not much new from what I've heard either... I still like what I've heard though. I guess the music industry, including the christian music industry, needs to get off the cookie cutter trip they're on. This is what happens when one band is successful and the suit wearers and producers get in the way of a bands individuality by saying "we want you to sound like this..." That's ok though, I really like their music and could definitely listen to them again.

Definitely in agreement here. Red is good, Decyfer Down isn't anything special to me and Skillet went downhill. I'm not seeing anything different about this band Burning Yesterday.

What is up with the Christian music industry lately? I've been hoping for some intense new music but, like you, only finding "huge case of deja vu". Not only that, I've found that the Christian radio stations haven't been that great to listen to anymore. Here in Middle Tennessee, the Broadcasters name is Wally and they always boast about how "different" he is. But when they say different, they mean that he takes "risks" in the Christian radio broadcasting world. NOT good risks. Risks that are offensive to devoted Christians.

Besides that sad fact... The radio plays the same old music over and over... makes me want to pull my hair out and throw it into the Cheerios I'm eating...

They aren't that bad. They are a little diverse within themselves, but they sound like different bands too much. The first song (on Myspace) sounds like Decyfer Down, the second like RED (exactly like RED), and the third like Kids in the Way (very close). They aren't bad at all though. I do like how direct their lyrics are. It's getting hard to find that these days. All in all, they're a pretty solid rock band. I'd give them 3.5 stars.
